Cinco de Mayo, 2008 Hal Brooks announces three new CD releases! (Miami) Hal Brooks announces the release of three new CDs, "Relax," "Response Ability," and "Onward!" Recorded in Miami at Blackstar Studios and featuring rising young stars of the local music scene, the albums "Relax" and "Onward!" showcase Hal's original jazz tunes and quirky arrangements of jazz standards. "Response Ability" features all members of the "Hal Brooks Consort" in various configurations performing group improvisations, or "free jazz."

Well, it's finally here! Over a year in the making, Impromptus is outrageous, vulnerable, confusing, and capricious. This is one pianist's attempt to "seize the moment," or as Hal puts it, "...play what I hear in a moment of temporary departure from the rules of music."
